This is one of my favorite pictures here at Brennan’s! The artist drew the picture as if they were sitting in the river looking north. These are actual Perch fishing boats. The artist has inscribed in the bottom corner, “Richmond, Oh. Linsey ‘40”.
The Village of Grand River was originally named Richmond, Ohio. Richmond was incorporated in 1888 and was later changed to Grand River. The burned out building was the Staley Soybean silo. There was a fire and the building became unusable. Mr. Jerome Osborne bought the land and the Grand River Marina sits on the site of the old silo.
