These Purple Heart Medals were given to me by my dear friend, Dexter. Hanging over the bar, the left was awarded to Dexter’s Father, Jay Parson, and the right to his uncle, Richard Parson.
Jay made it home from WWII, but unfortunately, Richard did not. Richard is buried in a Dutch cemetery in the Netherlands. Local families care for the graves of our American fallen men by laying flowers and cleaning the stones on Memorial Day and Dutch Liberation Day. The Dutch people are very appreciative, honoring the soldiers with all their hearts.
